The National Basketball Federation (NBBF) electoral committee has cleared four presidential aspirants for its upcoming congress, scheduled to be held on 15 October in Abuja.
During the screening process, the committee disqualified one candidate who failed to submit the required documentation before the deadline, citing a breach of the federation’s eligibility rules.
The congress, which will convene in Nigeria’s capital, is a key event where the federation’s leadership will be elected and strategic plans for the sport’s development will be discussed.
As the governing body of basketball in Nigeria, the NBBF oversees national competitions, talent development, and the representation of the country in international competitions.
By enforcing strict submission deadlines and eligibility criteria, the electoral committee aims to ensure a transparent and orderly selection of the federation’s top officials.
