Joe Ajaero Rejects Osifo's Ideological Differences
NLC President Joe Ajaero has defended the N70,000 transport allowance agreement reached between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) after accusing his counterpart, TUC President Festus Osifo, of ideological differences.
Ajaero, in an interview on Channels TV, stated that the N70,000 transport allowance was a result of a collective bargaining process involving the NLC, TUC, the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), and the Federal Government.
The NLC leader also denied having any personal interests in the CNG initiative, stating that the project predates his tenure as Deputy President, and that the union had advocated private sector participation to ensure the programme's success.
Ajaero criticised excessive government control over the CNG project, arguing that this had hindered its implementation.
On the N70,000 transport allowance, Ajaero maintained that the agreement was reached after a meeting between the NLC, TUC, NECA, and the Federal Government.
