More than 100 people were arrested in New York after demonstrators blocked streets and marched toward the United Nations headquarters as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed world leaders at the UN General Assembly.
The protest took place in New York City, where Netanyahu was speaking to the UNGA. Demonstrators, many of them local residents, blocked traffic and marched in front of the UN building, attempting to disrupt the Israeli prime minister’s address.
Police responded to the demonstration and made over 100 arrests as the crowds pressed forward. The arrests were carried out while the demonstrators sought to impede the Israeli PM’s speech to the international community.
