The paternity dispute over Master Liam, the son of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba—better known as Mohbad—has entered a new phase, following the collection of DNA samples from the child and the singer’s remains under court supervision, Vanguard reported.
Mohbad, who was a popular figure in Nigeria’s music scene, died several years ago. The case now involves determining whether Master Liam is indeed the singer’s biological son.
Under the direction of the court, forensic teams collected DNA from both Master Liam and the remains of Mohbad. The samples are being compared to resolve the paternity question.
All proceedings are being carried out in Lagos, where the court overseeing the case is located.
The outcome of the DNA analysis will decide the next steps in the legal dispute surrounding the singer’s legacy and his son’s identity.
