Michigan announced on Sunday afternoon that it has dismissed offensive coordinator Jason Beck, a decision made a day after the Wolverines fell 15‑6 to rival Michigan State.

The loss left Michigan with a 5‑4 overall record and a No. 17 ranking in scoring offense among the 14 teams in the Big Ten Conference.

Beck’s tenure ended following the defensive‑heavy contest in East Lansing, where the Spartans limited the Wolverines to just two field goals.

University officials said the move reflects a desire for “change in leadership” on the offensive side of the ball as the program looks to improve its production.

Michigan, a storied program in the Big Ten, will now begin a search for a new offensive coordinator as it seeks to boost its scoring output and compete more effectively in the remainder of the season.
