José Mourinho, the former manager of Real Madrid, has made it clear that the club’s ambitions extend beyond a single match win. Speaking after Real Madrid’s 2‑1 triumph over Barcelona at the Camp Nou, the Portuguese coach said the team is focused on winning La Liga, not merely celebrating a victory at the iconic stadium.
The 2‑1 result in the El Clásico added another chapter to the long‑standing rivalry between Madrid and Barcelona. While the win was a significant moment for the Spanish giants, Mourinho stressed that the club’s priorities lie in the league campaign.
“We play for La Liga, not just Camp Nou wins,” Mourinho said, underscoring the importance of consistency over isolated successes. The statement was made in the aftermath of the match, as Real Madrid look to secure the Spanish title.
With the league still in contention, the club’s focus remains on securing points across the season. Mourinho’s comments highlight the club’s broader objectives and the need to maintain performance levels throughout the campaign.
