Annie Olup, a 66‑year‑old widow, was driving in heavy rain when her vehicle struck a guardrail and flipped, causing her two dogs to escape from the wreckage.
The accident occurred on a wet, winding road where the guardrail forced the car into a sudden rollover. The dogs, which were inside the vehicle, managed to slip out during the crash.
Pet recovery specialist Steve Hartman was called to the scene. Hartman, who has experience locating lost animals after vehicle accidents, worked to locate and retrieve Olup’s dogs.
After a brief search, Hartman successfully brought the animals back to Olup’s home, reuniting the widow with her pets.
Pet recovery specialists like Hartman play a crucial role in helping owners recover lost animals, especially after traumatic incidents such as car accidents.
