England’s leading fast‑bowler James Anderson has been described as “pretty disrespectful” in the way his county side, Lancashire, has handled him, according to his long‑time England bowling partner Stuart Broad.
Broad made the comment while speaking about Anderson’s situation at Lancashire, saying the club’s actions toward the veteran bowler have not shown the respect due to a player of his stature.
Anderson, who has taken more Test wickets than any other England bowler and has been a mainstay of the national side for nearly two decades, also represents Lancashire in the County Championship.
Broad, who bowled alongside Anderson for England in more than 150 Tests, did not elaborate on specific incidents but emphasized that the treatment of a “legendary” player should reflect his contributions to both county and country.
The remarks come amid ongoing discussions about Anderson’s future in the game, with the 39‑year‑old still featuring for Lancashire despite recent injury setbacks.
