Edo‑born afrobeats artist K’wate has taken home the Best African USA‑Based Artist of the Year award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards held in Dallas, Texas.
The ceremony, organised by the African Muzik Magazine, recognises African musicians who are based outside the continent. K’wate’s win places him among a select group of artists who have been acknowledged for their international impact.
Speaking to the press after the ceremony, K’wate expressed gratitude for the honour, noting that it “reflects the hard work and dedication of all who support my music.”
