Elder statesman and former Vice‑Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Oba AbdulRaheem, OFR, has assembled a group of prominent Kwara indigenes to reconcile aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and rally support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Kwara APC Peace Committee held its inaugural meeting at Prof. Oba’s residence in Ilorin on 17 September, according to a statement released to Vanguard by Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin. It has reached out to some aggrieved political leaders and influential stakeholders to encourage reconciliation and forge a common front ahead of the elections.

In addition to conflict resolution, the group is canvassing support for the APC’s governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi, and other party candidates in the state. The initiative seeks to secure the backing of party stakeholders and strengthen cohesion within the APC in preparation for the upcoming general elections.
