New South Wales’ civil and administrative tribunal has upheld a ban that prevents Manthos Papadopoulos, the owner of the Sydney Elements and Showgirls strip clubs, from entering any of his own venues in the Kings Cross nightlife precinct. The tribunal’s decision, released on Monday, confirms a July order issued by the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority after a request from NSW police.

The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority classified the two clubs as “high‑risk” premises and, under that assessment, barred Papadopoulos from stepping onto any property covered by its liquor licence – a restriction that includes his own businesses.

Papadopoulos appealed the authority’s decision, but the tribunal found the original ruling to be lawful and declined to overturn it, leaving the entry ban in place.

Kings Cross is a historic Sydney district renowned for its vibrant nightlife, featuring a concentration of bars, nightclubs and adult‑entertainment venues. The area has long been subject to heightened regulatory scrutiny by police and licensing bodies.

With the tribunal’s ruling, the ban on Papadopoulos remains effective. While the decision does not preclude further legal challenges, any immediate change to his ability to access the clubs will have to await a new appeal or legislative action.
