Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a “full lockdown” of the occupied West Bank in response to a recent shooting, the government said.
The directive calls for a comprehensive security clampdown across the territory, though specific measures have not been detailed in the announcement.
The West Bank, an area under Israeli occupation since the 1967 war, has long been a flashpoint for Israeli‑Palestinian tensions, with frequent incidents of violence and security operations.
Netanyahu’s order follows the shooting, which prompted the Israeli leadership to intensify its security posture in the region.
The lockdown adds to an already volatile security environment and is expected to affect movement and daily life for residents of the West Bank.
