Israeli restrictions on travel and medical evacuations are preventing children in Gaza from receiving treatment abroad, a local non‑governmental organisation has warned.
The NGO said that 1,100 child amputees in the Gaza Strip are unable to be flown to hospitals outside the territory for the specialist care they need.
According to the organisation, the restrictions have made it difficult for families to secure the necessary permits and transport arrangements for medical evacuation.
Gaza’s health infrastructure is under severe strain, and the lack of access to external medical facilities has raised concerns about the long‑term wellbeing of the children affected.
