A memo from U.S. intelligence agencies has warned that Iranian plots against American citizens in the Middle East have reached advanced stages, prompting officials to raise their security posture.
The document, released to senior U.S. officials, details the extent of the threat and calls for heightened protective measures for U.S. personnel and interests in the region.
Analysts note that the memo reflects a broader escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran, especially after a series of recent incidents involving U.S. assets.
In response, the U.S. has placed its diplomatic and military personnel on heightened alert and increased surveillance of potential targets across the Middle East.
While the memo does not name specific incidents, it signals a broader strategy by Iran to target Americans abroad and underscores the need for vigilance among U.S. officials.
“Iranian plots against U.S. citizens in the Middle East have reached advanced stages,” the memo states.
