Iranians took to the streets across the country on Wednesday, staging anti‑U.S. and anti‑Israel rallies that coincided with the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance, a day Tehran uses to protest what demonstrators describe as U.S.–Israeli hegemony.
Organisers called the gatherings a demonstration of popular opposition to what they see as foreign domination, and participants voiced their dissent through chants and placards denouncing the United States and Israel.
The National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance is observed annually in Iran as a symbolic rejection of perceived external interference, reflecting the long‑standing tensions between Tehran, Washington and Jerusalem.
While the protests were reported in multiple cities, no specific incidents of violence or arrests were mentioned in the initial reports.
The rallies underscore the persistence of anti‑Western sentiment in Iran, a sentiment that has been a recurring feature of the country's domestic politics for years.
