On 4 November 2026, the National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH) hosted a meeting in Yaoundé between the Cameroonian and Equatorial‑Guinean delegations to review the Agreement of Operations of the Unit (AOU) for the Yoyo‑Yolanda trans‑border gas fields.

During the session the two sides agreed on a common position ahead of forthcoming talks with Chevron, the project’s strategic partner. The Cameroonian delegation was led by Nathalie Moudiki, SNH’s N2 adviser, while Equatorial Guinea’s delegation was headed by Oscar Berniko, Director General of State Entities and Petroleum Assets at the Ministry of Hydrocarbons.

The Yoyo‑Yolanda project sits within a broader bilateral framework. It builds on the 17 March 2023 agreement signed by Presidents Paul Biya and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and the 3 February 2026 unitisation agreement signed in Malabo under the Vice‑President of Equatorial Guinea.

Both governments see the project as a showcase of south‑south cooperation, aiming to harness cross‑border gas resources for industrialisation, economic development and the satisfaction of local population needs.

The 4 November meeting is a pivotal step toward finalising the project and ensuring the sustainable exploitation of the gas resources shared by Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.
