English striker Harry Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich, was announced as the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or, the sport’s most prestigious individual award.
The Ballon d’Or, presented annually by the French magazine France Football, recognises the world’s best male footballer based on performances over the calendar year. It is widely regarded as the highest personal honour in the game.
Kane’s triumph adds his name to an elite list of past winners and marks a milestone in his career, which has seen him excel at both club level with Bayern Munich and internationally with England.
The award was welcomed by fans and fellow players, who praised Kane’s consistency and impact on the pitch throughout the season.
