Lewis Hamilton has stated that he overrode a pit stop instruction from his Ferrari team during the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, citing a "lack of information" as the primary reason for his decision.
The incident occurred during the closing stages of the race, a critical period when weather conditions were deteriorating and rain began to fall on the track.
Hamilton explained that the decision to stay out was driven by the information available to him at that moment, which did not support the team's initial call for him to come into the pits.
The move highlighted the complex strategic challenges drivers face when weather patterns shift rapidly, requiring split-second judgments that can diverge from the team's broader tactical planning.
