A collective of Cameroonian activists calling themselves “Ramenez nos fils et nos frères” announced plans for peaceful demonstrations in several cities across the country to protest the war in Ukraine. The announcement was issued in a press release from Douala on the 22nd.

The group said the demonstrations are intended to raise public awareness of the conflict and to urge both Cameroonian authorities and the international community to work toward an end to the fighting. Organisers stressed that the events will be non‑violent and that participants are asked to respect public order.

While the release did not list every location, it confirmed that the protests will be held in multiple urban centres, including Douala, the nation’s economic hub, and other major cities such as Yaoundé.

The war in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, has prompted solidarity actions worldwide. In Africa, several civil‑society groups have organised rallies and campaigns to express concern over the humanitarian toll of the conflict.

“Ramenez nos fils et nos frères” urged Cameroonians to join the peaceful rallies and to use the platform to call for an end to hostilities, emphasizing that the collective’s aim is to amplify the voices of those affected by the war.
