Tiger Woods, the host of the upcoming Hero World Challenge, was not included in the initial player field released on Monday for the tournament scheduled to take place from December 3 to 6 in Albany, Bahamas.
Despite his absence from the initial announcement, the 22-time major champion retains the possibility of competing in the event. Organizers have reserved three exemption spots that could still be allocated to Woods.
The Hero World Challenge is a prestigious invitational golf tournament traditionally hosted by Woods at his Shadow Creek Golf Course. The event typically features a select group of professional and amateur players invited by the host.
With the initial field now public, fans and analysts will be watching to see if Woods secures one of the remaining exemption entries before the tournament begins in early December.
