The FIA has announced that it will implement further changes to wet‑weather engine software from the United States Grand Prix onward, following a review of a software bug that caused a further delay to the start of last week’s rain‑hit Malaysia Grand Prix.

The bug was uncovered during the Malaysian race, where heavy rain already pushed back the start time. The FIA’s review found that the software issue compounded the delay, prompting the governing body to seek a solution.

Under the new measures, the wet‑weather engine software will be updated to prevent similar disruptions in future races. The changes will be applied from the United States Grand Prix, the next event on the Formula One calendar.

While the FIA has not released detailed information on the specific adjustments, it said the updates will be rolled out before the start of the race weekend to ensure smooth operation.

The governing body remains committed to monitoring software performance across the season to safeguard race integrity and driver safety.
