Former Miss Jamaica Dr Gabrielle Henry has filed a lawsuit against the Miss Universe Organisation after a stage fall during the competition left her with a brain bleed and other injuries.
The legal action, announced by Henry’s representatives, claims that the fall was caused by unsafe stage conditions and that the organisation failed to provide adequate safety measures for contestants.
According to the complaint, Henry sustained a brain bleed and a range of other injuries that required immediate medical attention. The details of the injuries beyond the brain bleed have not been disclosed.
Henry, who represented Jamaica at the Miss Universe pageant, said the incident has had a lasting impact on her health and well‑being. The lawsuit seeks compensation for medical costs, loss of earnings and damages for pain and suffering.
As of now, the Miss Universe Organisation has not issued a public statement regarding the claim. The case will be heard in a U.S. court, with the outcome expected to be announced later this year.
