Enugu State-owned airline Enugu Air has received official approval to launch a new international route from Lagos to London Gatwick, according to a statement from the company.

The approval comes after a strategic partnership was formed with Omni‑Blu Aviation, which will act as the designated operator for the service. The partnership was announced by Enugu Air officials during a press briefing held in Lagos.

Under the new arrangement, flights will depart from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and arrive at London Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom. The service is expected to begin operations later this year, pending final regulatory clearances.

Enugu Air said the expansion is part of its broader strategy to increase international connectivity for the state and Nigeria as a whole. The airline also highlighted plans to introduce additional routes in the future.

London Gatwick is one of the UK's busiest airports, handling millions of passengers annually. The new Lagos‑London link will provide a direct connection between Nigeria's commercial hub and a major European gateway.
