Ekiti State University in Ado Ekiti has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to launch six new academic programmes starting in the 2027/20 academic year.
The NUC, which regulates university programmes across Nigeria, granted the university permission to expand its curriculum.
The six programmes will be added to the university's existing offerings, although the specific disciplines have not yet been disclosed.
The approval is part of the university's broader strategy to increase access to higher education and respond to growing demand for specialised skills in the region.
Ekiti State University officials said the new programmes will be introduced in the 2027/20 academic year and will be available to students who meet the admission criteria set by the NUC.
