The Ekiti State Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education has successfully graduated 76 adult learners from its literacy programmes. Following the completion of the course, the agency has issued a public call for more illiterate adults in the state to enrol in similar educational initiatives.
While the source material does not specify the exact date of the graduation ceremony or the specific locations where the classes were held, the agency highlighted the milestone as a significant step toward improving literacy rates within Ekiti State. The 76 graduates have now acquired basic literacy skills, marking the end of their structured learning period.
Call for Increased Enrollment
In the wake of the graduation, officials from the Ekiti State Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education urged the general public to support the expansion of these programmes. The primary objective of this appeal is to reach a wider demographic of adults who currently lack basic reading and writing skills.
The agency emphasized that literacy is a fundamental right and a critical component of personal and economic development. By encouraging more adults to participate, the state aims to reduce the number of illiterate citizens and foster a more educated society. The initiative targets adults who may have missed out on formal education during their school-age years.
Residents of Ekiti State who are interested in joining the literacy programmes are encouraged to contact the agency for further information on enrollment procedures. The agency remains committed to providing accessible educational opportunities to all adults seeking to improve their literacy levels.
