The DP World Tour announced that it will not permit players who compete on the LIV Golf circuit to take part in any of its events during the 2027 season.
The DP World Tour, formerly known as the European Tour, is the leading professional golf tour in Europe and one of the sport’s global circuits, organising tournaments across more than 30 countries each year.
LIV Golf is a breakaway series that launched in 2022 and is financed by Saudi Arabian interests. It has attracted a number of high‑profile golfers, creating a split in the professional game that has led to ongoing disputes between the two organisations.
Under the new policy, any golfer who holds a playing licence or has participated in a LIV Golf event will be ineligible to enter DP World Tour tournaments for the 2027 calendar year.
The decision underscores the continuing tension between the established tour and the newer LIV Golf series, and the DP World Tour says the rule will be enforced from the start of the 2027 season.
