The Cameroonian customs service has welcomed a fresh cohort of 240 agents, all ready to take on their duties after completing an intensive military training programme at the Battalion of Airborne Troops (BTAP).

The 2026 promotion finished its rigorous training at BTAP, a unit renowned for its high‑standard preparation of personnel for rapid deployment and operational readiness. The training was designed to equip the new customs officers with the skills required to secure the country’s borders and enforce trade regulations.

Upon completion, the agents will join the customs service’s existing teams to carry out inspections, monitor cargo flows, and support anti‑smuggling operations across Cameroon’s ports and airports.

Officials said the new recruits would strengthen the customs service’s capacity to manage the country’s growing trade volumes and to uphold national security objectives.
