Nigerian electricity distribution companies collected N603.64 bn in the second quarter of 2026, a figure reported by the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), even as power offtake fell by 3.40 %.
The figure represents the total revenue generated by the country’s DisCos from electricity sales and related services during the six‑month period ending 30 June 2026.
The 3.40 % decline in power offtake indicates that the amount of electricity purchased by the distribution companies from the national grid was lower than in the previous quarter, according to the NERC data.
Despite the drop in offtake, the DisCos were still able to raise more than 600 bn naira, reflecting the size of the sector and the tariffs applied to consumers.
The NERC report is part of the regulator’s regular quarterly performance reviews of the electricity distribution industry.
