Democrats have vowed to launch investigations into President Donald Trump’s White House as well as into businesses that did business with his administration, according to statements released by party leaders.
The proposed probes are intended to examine actions taken by the executive branch and to assess whether any companies that contracted with the Trump administration engaged in wrongdoing or received improper benefits.
Democratic lawmaker Blanche countered the initiative by suggesting that the inquiries could also extend to members of Congress, indicating that lawmakers themselves might come under scrutiny.
The move reflects a broader partisan push for oversight of the former president’s tenure, a theme that has shaped congressional activity since Trump left office.
Officials say the investigations will be conducted through existing congressional committees and could lead to hearings, subpoenas, or further legislative action depending on the findings.
