Alex DeBrincat is finalizing a seven-year contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings, according to sources who spoke to ESPN. The 28-year-old right winger will earn an annual salary of $13 million under the new agreement, which totals approximately $91 million over its duration.
DeBrincat currently stands as the team’s leading scorer for the season. He was active in the team's most recent game on Tuesday, recording two goals and one assist, although the Red Wings fell to the New Jersey Devils in that matchup.
The extension secures the future of one of Detroit’s primary offensive threats, locking in his services through the next seven seasons. The deal reflects the organization's commitment to retaining its top talent as it looks to maintain competitiveness in the league.
