The Indianapolis Colts have dismissed general manager Chris Ballard after a home loss to the Tennessee Titans, who entered the game without a win.
The decision was announced by Colts owner Carlie Irsay‑Gordon, who said the team needed a change in leadership following the defeat.
Ballard had overseen the Colts’ roster and personnel decisions for the past several seasons, but the franchise has decided to move in a new direction.
“A change in leadership is necessary,” Irsay‑Gordon said in a statement released by the organization.
The Colts have not yet named a replacement, but the organization will begin the search for a new general manager in the coming days.
