Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal said that Bayern Munich, Paris Saint‑Germain (PSG) and Arsenal are the three clubs he expects to pose the biggest challenge to Barcelona’s bid for this season’s Champions League trophy.
PSG enter the competition as the defending champions and are aiming to retain the title for a third consecutive year, a feat that Yamal described as “very difficult” to achieve.
Yamal explained that Barcelona’s “weakness is more against teams like Bayern or PSG” because those sides are “more physical and force you to run a lot and stay focused for the entire game.”
He contrasted this with Arsenal, saying the English club presents “a more tactical game and more about having the ball,” which requires a different approach from the physical battles he expects against the German and French giants.
“I think PSG are one of the favourites, but their problem is that winning again after you’ve already won is very difficult. That’s the hardest thing in football. When you win a trophy, winning it again is even harder. That’s also my fear whenever we win something, that afterwards, we might relax.”
