The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) has directed the Defence Space Administration to expand its space-based intelligence support to military operations in Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central regions.
The directive aims to enhance the precision and effectiveness of ongoing security operations in these areas by leveraging advanced satellite data and remote sensing capabilities.
By extending this technological support, the military intends to improve situational awareness and target identification for forces deployed in the specified zones.
This move underscores the Nigerian military’s increasing reliance on space technology to bolster its counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism efforts across the country.
