The Denver Broncos are not considering benching quarterback Bo Nix as the team struggles on offense, coach Sean Payton said Monday. The statement was made during a post‑game press briefing in Denver, Colorado, where Payton addressed questions about the Broncos’ offensive performance.
Bo Nix, who has been the Broncos’ starting quarterback for the season, has faced criticism after a series of low‑scoring games. The team’s offense has been described as underperforming, with several games where the Broncos failed to generate enough yards or points to keep pace with opponents.
Payton, who has a long coaching career in the NFL, emphasized that the decision to keep Nix in the starting role is based on the player’s potential and the coaching staff’s confidence in his development. “We’re not looking at benching him,” Payton said, adding that the team will continue to work on offensive strategies.
“We’re not looking at benching him,” Payton said. “We’re going to keep working on the offense and give Bo the opportunity to improve.”
The Broncos will focus on tightening their offensive line and play‑calling in the coming weeks, as the team seeks to turn around its performance and move toward a more competitive standing in the league.
