According to a recent poll, Brazil's presidential race between incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro and former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has become much closer ahead of the upcoming run-off election.
The poll, conducted by Datafolha, indicates that both candidates are almost neck-to-neck, with Lula leading by just 1 percentage point.
The poll reveals that Lula has garnered 49% support, while Bolsonaro has secured 48% backing. The remaining 3% of respondents were undecided or did not provide a response.
Datafolha's survey was conducted between October 24th and October 27th, covering a total of 1,900 registered voters.
Speaking about the poll results, Datafolha's director, Felipe Pinheiro, said, "The race between Bolsonaro and Lula has become tighter in recent days, with the margin of error reduced to 2 percentage points."
The race for Brazil's presidency is set to take place on October 30th, with the country's citizens set to choose between the left-wing Lula and the far-right Bolsonaro.
