Aaron Boone is set to return for his 10th season as manager of the New York Yankees in 2027, a source told ESPN on Monday, confirming a report previously published by the Bergen Record.
The source, who asked to remain unnamed, indicated that the Yankees have secured Boone’s services for the 2027 campaign, though no details about the length or terms of the agreement were disclosed.
Boone, who took over the Yankees’ dugout ahead of the 2018 season, has guided the club through multiple playoff appearances, including a World Series run in 2022. His tenure has been marked by a blend of veteran leadership and the development of young talent.
The Yankees, one of Major League Baseball’s most storied franchises with 27 World Series championships, have been actively shaping their roster and front‑office strategy to remain competitive in the increasingly talent‑rich American League East.
While the confirmation solidifies Boone’s role through the 2027 season, the team has not announced any further contractual extensions or related personnel moves at this time.
