Blanche told CNN’s “State of the Union” that President Donald Trump is not attempting to overturn state election results in any way, shape or form as the November 3 election approaches.
The statement came after Trump said on Friday that he was “the one that said do it,” a comment that raised questions about his involvement in the upcoming Alaska Senate race.
Blanche’s remarks were made on the broadcast to reassure voters that the president’s recent statements do not reflect any effort to interfere with the state’s electoral process.
Alaska’s election, scheduled for November 3, will decide the outcome of its Senate seat, but according to Blanche, no legal or political action by Trump is aimed at altering the results.
