Cameroonian striker Christian Kofane will not travel with Bayer Leverkusen for the club’s match in Poland against Lech Poznań on Thursday.
The forward was omitted from the German side’s traveling squad, leaving him unavailable for the fixture. No specific reason for his exclusion was given, but his continued absence has been described as a lingering concern for the team.
Bayer Leverkusen, a regular contender in Germany’s Bundesliga, faces Polish champions Lech Poznań in what is a European competition encounter on Polish soil. The match will test Leverkusen’s depth as they seek to maintain momentum in the tournament.
Without Kofane, Leverkusen will have to rely on other attacking options to fill the void left by the missing striker. The coaching staff will need to adjust their forward line ahead of the Thursday game.
Kofane’s unavailability adds to a series of recent injury and selection issues that have kept the club’s roster in flux, prompting ongoing scrutiny of the squad’s readiness for upcoming challenges.
