Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger will chair a panel of African coaches at an upcoming Confederation of African Football (CAF) conference in Cabo Verde, where they will analyse the continent’s record‑breaking performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The gathering, organised by CAF, brings together veteran and emerging coaches from across Africa to review the factors behind the historic showing, which saw the region achieve its best results to date on football’s biggest stage.
Wenger, widely respected for his long‑term success in European club football, will moderate discussions on tactical approaches, player development pathways and the impact of the expanded World Cup format, which adds more slots for African nations.
Representatives from several national teams are expected to share insights on preparation, squad selection and the role of domestic leagues in nurturing talent capable of competing at the highest level.
The conference in Cabo Verde underscores CAF’s commitment to building on the momentum generated by the 2026 tournament and to fostering collaborative learning among the continent’s coaching community.
