The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Presidential Campaign Organisation has publicly criticised the Presidency after the government denied allegations that it is withholding a N250 billion dividend from Nigeria LNG (NLNG).
In a statement, the APM campaign council said the denial was “unfounded” and accused the administration of a lack of transparency regarding the handling of the NLNG dividend, which the party claims should be paid to the federal government.
The Presidency, for its part, rejected the allegation, stating that there is no withholding of the dividend and that the claim is inaccurate.
The dispute centres on reports that NLNG, a joint‑venture between the Nigerian government and several multinational oil firms, is due to remit N250 billion in dividend payments to the federal treasury. The size of the dividend has become a point of political discussion, with opposition parties demanding clearer accounting.
APM officials called on the government to release full details of the dividend’s status, saying the issue reflects broader concerns about fiscal management and accountability in the country.
