Chief Afe Babalola has recognized outstanding agricultural contributions in Ekiti State, rewarding local farmers during his annual agricultural expo. The event served as a platform to celebrate productivity and innovation within the state’s farming community.
The highlight of the ceremony was the award of N2 million to the best farmer, a significant financial incentive aimed at encouraging high standards in agricultural practice. This top prize underscores the importance placed on excellence and efficiency in crop production and farm management.
In addition to the monetary rewards, Babalola announced plans for the establishment of an Ekiti Farmers’ House. This proposed facility is intended to serve as a dedicated hub for agricultural stakeholders, potentially providing resources, training, or a centralized location for farmer collaboration.
The annual agricultural expo continues to be a key initiative under Babalola’s patronage, focusing on supporting the agricultural sector in Ekiti. By combining direct financial rewards with infrastructure development, the program aims to bolster the livelihoods of farmers and enhance food security in the region.
These efforts reflect a broader commitment to revitalizing agriculture in Ekiti State, addressing the needs of the farming community through both immediate incentives and long-term structural support.
