ADC Rejects Judgement Sacking Mark, Atiku, Blames APC
The All Progressives Congress (ADC) has dismissed a recent Federal High Court ruling that impacted its leadership and Atiku Abubakar's presidential nomination. The party claims that the ruling was influenced by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and cites an earlier decision that recognized David Mark as the legitimate leader.
In a statement released by the ADC, party officials expressed their disapproval of the recent judgement. The party stated that the decision was "unfortunate and politically motivated." They also accused the APC of interfering in the court proceedings.
The party further cited a previous judgement from the Abuja High Court, which recognized Mark's leadership and affirmed his position as the party's presidential candidate. The ruling stated that the party's internal processes were followed correctly, thus rendering the recent judgement invalid.
Atiku Abubakar, a prominent member of the ADC, also weighed in on the matter, stating that the party will not be deterred by the judgement. He emphasized the party's commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has not yet commented on the situation or provided any explanation for its alleged interference in the court case. The ongoing conflict within the ADC highlights the complexities of Nigeria's political landscape and the challenges faced by political parties in maintaining unity amidst internal disputes.
The ADC's internal struggle comes at a crucial time for the party, as it aims to compete with other major political parties in the upcoming Nigerian elections. The party's ability to resolve this dispute and maintain its integrity will be crucial in determining its success in the electoral race.
