The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced that it will inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on Friday, formally kicking off its campaign for Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
The inauguration ceremony will bring together party officials and selected campaign members who will be tasked with coordinating the ADC’s nationwide outreach, policy promotion and candidate selection ahead of the upcoming polls.
By launching its campaign council now, the ADC aims to establish an early organisational framework, giving it a longer runway to build voter support and articulate its platform before the election year.
Nigeria’s next presidential election is scheduled for 2027, and political parties are beginning to mobilise resources and strategies well in advance. The country, Africa’s most populous nation, regularly sees intense competition among multiple parties vying for the presidency.
The ADC’s move underscores its intention to be a visible contender in the 2027 race, seeking to expand its presence beyond its traditional strongholds and engage a broader electorate across the federation.
