Sultan Bello, the national youth leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has resigned from the party with immediate effect. The resignation was formally announced in a letter dated September 24, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of the Ja’oji Gyadi Gyadi Arewa Ward in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
In his statement, Bello indicated that the decision was the result of extensive consultations, careful consideration, and deep personal reflection. He emphasized that the move had not been taken lightly, while expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the party’s growth and activities during his tenure as a member.
“This decision has not been taken lightly. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served and contributed to the growth and activities of the party during my time as a member. I sincerely appreciate the relationships, experiences, and lessons gained throughout my journey within the ADC,” Bello wrote.
Bello specifically extended his appreciation to ADC Chairman Rotimi Amaechi, whom he referred to as his principal. He thanked Amaechi for his guidance, trust, and support, noting his gratitude for the confidence placed in him and wishing the chairman continued success in his future endeavors.
The letter also included acknowledgments to the broader party leadership, stakeholders, members, and supporters for the chance to serve. Bello respectfully requested that his resignation be accepted and that his name be removed from the party’s membership records immediately.
The resignation marks a significant departure for the ADC, as Bello held the prominent position of national youth leader, a role typically central to the party’s engagement with younger demographics and grassroots mobilization efforts.
