Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has ordered the immediate reconstruction of the Saje‑Elega‑Adedotun road in Abeokuta, the state’s capital, as part of a broader push to upgrade the region’s infrastructure.
In a statement released by the governor’s office, Abiodun said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to improving public works and giving Abeokuta “a befitting facelift.”
The road, which runs through several neighbourhoods of the city, is slated for rapid repair to address current wear and improve traffic flow for commuters and local businesses.
Abiodun’s remarks come amid a series of infrastructure initiatives announced this year, including road resurfacing, bridge rehabilitation and the expansion of urban utilities across Ogun State.
Officials indicated that the reconstruction will be funded through the state’s capital development budget, with work expected to begin within weeks and to be completed as quickly as possible to minimize disruption.
