In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Banwo Mayowa, a senior figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), urged Nigerians to back President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027. Mayowa said the country would benefit from policy continuity and that the current administration should be given the chance to consolidate its economic reforms and infrastructure projects.

Mayowa, who previously served on the Obi‑Datti Presidential Campaign Council, called on voters to support Tinubu’s re‑election as a way to maintain momentum on the government’s agenda. “The reforms and projects underway need a stable political environment to reach fruition,” he said.

“We need to give the administration the time and support to consolidate its economic reforms and infrastructure projects,” Mayowa said in the statement.

He added that a second term would allow the Tinubu administration to finish the work it has begun, including efforts to improve the country’s economic resilience and expand critical infrastructure networks.

Mayowa’s appeal comes as the APC prepares for the 2027 presidential election, with party members weighing the benefits of continuity against the desire for fresh leadership. The call for Tinubu’s re‑election reflects a broader debate within the party about the best path forward for Nigeria’s development.
