Senator Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, the National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), called on party leaders, members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. He made the appeal during a strategic meeting held in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Zuwoghe stressed the need for unity, discipline, effective coordination and collective responsibility, arguing that the party’s strength hinges on active and organised grassroots structures.

The gathering brought together members of the local government and ward executive committees from all 17 wards in Southern Ijaw. It was hosted at the headquarters secretariat complex of His Will Political Family Worldwide in Yenagoa.

Four NDC candidates for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly – Ogede Parkins Embeleakpo, Ifiemi Collins Embiowei, Ziriki Ayebamiebi Godwill and Alfred Perekere Salvation – attended the meeting, along with the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, Leghemo Abaye Diepreye.

Zuwoghe urged every ward to remain active, organised and committed to the party’s objectives, and charged leaders and stakeholders to take the NDC’s message of good governance, justice and people‑centred leadership to every community.

“The journey to 2027 requires commitment, sacrifice and teamwork. Together, we shall build a formidable political structure in Southern Ijaw and across Bayelsa State,” he said, adding that unity and collective commitment are essential for the party’s success.
