The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) has set a target of more than three million votes for the Accord Party’s presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo‑Hashim, in the 2027 general election. The target is aimed at the South‑West region of Nigeria, where the movement is concentrating its mobilisation efforts.

Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, the South‑West coordinator of GHSM, said the figure comes from an internal assessment of the movement’s grassroots mobilisation prospects across the six states that make up the region. He noted that Osun, Lagos and Oyo are expected to provide the bulk of the projected votes.

According to Olaniyi, Osun State alone is projected to contribute more than one million votes, while Lagos and Oyo together are expected to deliver a combined 1.5 million votes for the Accord Party.

The remaining votes needed to reach the regional target are anticipated to come from Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti states, the coordinator added. He also said that voters in Osun are likely to make independent choices in the presidential election, regardless of any political alignments involving state‑level leaders.

Olaniyi expressed confidence that GHSM can expand its grassroots presence through engagement with community leaders, youth groups, political stakeholders and local organisations across the region. The movement intends to translate its mobilisation efforts into electoral support for Olawepo‑Hashim and the Accord Party ahead of the 2027 election.
