Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji has pledged that President Bola Tinubu will secure 80 percent of the state’s votes in the 2027 presidential election, asserting that former opposition candidates from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) are now united in supporting the incumbent’s reelection bid.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign rally in Ekiti on Thursday, Governor Oyebanji stated that no president has been as beneficial to the people of the state as Tinubu. He highlighted that the three opposition candidates who contested the June governorship election alongside him have joined forces to ensure Tinubu’s victory in January 2027.

“Mr President, Ekiti people have spoken and we have listened to the candidates of the SDP, PDP, and APM that we contested the June governorship election together, all three of them are now united to ensure that we deliver Mr President in January,” Oyebanji said.

The governor credited Tinubu’s administration for the APC’s unprecedented victory in the June 20, 2024, gubernatorial election, where the party secured 85.7 percent of the vote. Oyebanji noted that Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Ekiti twice in May to commission projects and campaign, conveying a message that if the people were satisfied with the governor’s performance, they should return the president’s promise.

Oyebanji emphasized that the state’s unity is evident through the physical presence of former governors Fayose, Niyi Adebayo, and Fayemi at the rally, while former Governor Oni sent his apologies. He described the political climate as stable, stating, “There is no problem in Ekiti State.”

Concluding his address, the governor charged the people of Ekiti to double their June voting tally by January 16, 2027. “We will return the President with nothing less than 80 percent of the votes and that is a charge to Ekiti people,” he declared.
