SGF George Akume and Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule have announced a new movement aimed at rallying grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re‑election campaign. The initiative, launched in the North‑Central region of Nigeria, seeks to mobilise voters and build a broad base of backing for the incumbent president.

Akume, a former governor of Benue State and a senior member of the All‑Progressive Congress (APC), and Sule, who has served as governor of Nasarawa State since 2019, said the movement will focus on community outreach and voter education. They emphasised the importance of engaging local leaders and ordinary citizens in the political process.

President Tinubu, who has been in office since 2023, is expected to seek a second term in the 2027 presidential election. The new mobilisation effort is part of a wider strategy by the APC to consolidate support ahead of the national polls.

Both Akume and Sule highlighted the need for a united front in the North‑Central zone, a region that has historically been politically influential. They called on residents to participate actively in the campaign and to spread the message of continuity and development.

While the movement’s specific activities have yet to be detailed, the leaders assured that it would operate within the legal framework of Nigeria’s electoral laws and would work closely with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a fair and transparent process.
